Carbon range is .18 to .31 depending on grade & thickness
Manganese range is .60 to 1.30 depending on grade & thickness
Phosphorous maximum is .035
Sulfur maximum is .035
Silicon can range from .15 to .40
S355N steel Mechanical Requirements:
Grade 55 – 30,000psi yield strength, 55,000psi to 75,000psi tensile strength, 23% elongation in 8" test, 27% elongation in 2" test. Maximum thickness is 12".
Grade 60 – 32,000psi yield strength, 60,000psi to 80,000psi tensile strength, 21% elongation in 8" test, 25% elongation in 2" test. Maximum thickness is 8".
Grade 65 – 35,000psi yield strength, 65,000psi to 85,000psi tensile strength, 19% elongation in 8" test, 23% elongation in 2" test. Maximum thickness is 8".
Grade 70 – 38,000psi yield strength, 70,000psi to 90,000psi tensile strength, 17% elongation in 8" test, 21% elongation in 2" test.
