Cogging mill is mainly used to make reheating ingot rolling into the slab or bloom.
After rolling technology popularization, iron steel can be directly made into shape and cogging mill is gradually replaced. The mill is back and forth to work, making the ingot by roll back and forth until forming.
Cogging mill appears in the late 19th century. Prior to this, ingot is through
repeatedly with huge industrial hammer knock to get the right size and shape, in case of rolling.
Cogging mill is sometimes called semi-finishing mill, generous slab mill or slab mill.
