Cutting Parameter Settings
For flame cutting, adjust oxygen pressure (e.g., 0.5-0.8 MPa for carbon steel) and nozzle type according to the steel plate thickness. Too fast a speed can cause slag buildup, while too slow a speed can lead to deformation. Plasma cutting requires a stable arc current, and the cutting distance should be maintained at 3-5 mm. When laser cutting carbon steel, use a Φ1.4 nozzle for 1-8 mm thickness and a Φ2.0 nozzle for 8-10 mm thickness; a focus that is too high will result in a rough surface.
Safety Operation Essentials
Before cutting, check the airtightness of the equipment and wear safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves. During flame cutting, avoid excessive temperature to prevent burning the steel plate. Plasma cutting requires ventilation to prevent smoke and dust. Before laser cutting, remove rust to prevent reflection damage to the nozzle.
Material Selection Suggestions
Flame cutting is suitable for 6-300 mm carbon steel. Plasma cutting is suitable for various thicknesses. Laser cutting is preferred for high-precision requirements below 25 mm. Wear-resistant steel plates require plasma or laser cutting to avoid heat-affected zone cracking.
