How to choose steel plates suitable for flame cutting?

Flame cutting is suitable for materials such as carbon steel and low-alloy steel, with a typical cutting thickness of 6mm to 300mm. Too thin or too thick steel plates will affect the cutting quality, so the appropriate thickness should be selected based on specific needs.

The cutting effect varies for different types of steel: low-carbon steel (6-300mm) is the easiest to cut, medium-carbon steel (8-150mm) requires preheating, high-carbon steel (10-100mm) is prone to slag adhesion, and alloy steel (8-120mm) requires parameter adjustment.

During cutting, attention should be paid to the following: the steel plate surface should be free of severe rust or oil stains, and uniform thickness is necessary to ensure cutting quality. For ultra-thick plates (such as 220mm), CNC cutting should be used, and deformation control is required.
