Classification of oil depot and color classification of oil tank

Oil depots mainly store combustible crude oil and petroleum products, and some oil depots also store heavy oil such as lubricating oil and fuel oil. According to the Chinese national standard "code for design of oil depots" (GB124), oil depots are divided into four grades according to the total storage capacity.

The first level is > 10W cubic meters, the second level is 3W-10W cubic meters, the third level is 1W-3W cubic meters, the fourth level is 1000-1W cubic meters, and the fifth level is < 1000 cubic meters. The total capacity of oil depot refers to the sum of the nominal capacity of the oil depot and the designed storage capacity of barreled oil products, excluding the capacity of auxiliary tanks for long-term tasks as well as the capacity of oil tanks for the oil depot's own use.

The theme colors of oil tanks in oil depots are different according to the types of oil products. Red for gasoline tank, gray for diesel tank, yellow for kerosene tank and dark gray for lubricating oil tank. The color code of storage and transportation facilities and equipment is the same as that of corresponding oil products, including oil tank color ring, valve hand wheel, outdoor oil pipeline color ring and flow direction indicator, electric control switch button in oil pump room, etc.
