ASTM A572 Gr.50 is a high strength low alloy niobium vanadium structural steel with a yield strength of ≥345MPa (50ksi), a tensile strength of more than 450MPa, and an elongation of ≥18%. A572 Gr. 50 steel has excellent bending resistance and weldability. Its carbon content is ≤0.23%. Through niobium vanadium microalloying to refine the grains, phosphorus and sulfur impurities are controlled at ≤0.04% and ≤0.05% respectively, which significantly improves low temperature toughness.
A572 Gr.50 steel is produced by hot rolling or normalizing process and is suitable for heavy-duty structures such as building frames, bridge main beams and engineering machinery. Compared with ordinary carbon steel, its strength is increased by more than 50%, which can reduce the cross-sectional size of components and achieve lightweight design.
In the Chinese market, the performance of ASTM A572 Gr.50 steel is close to that of national standard Q355D and European standard S355JR, but its weather resistance is better than that of ordinary carbon steel, and its cost is lower than that of ASTM A992. It is one of the mainstream structural materials in North America.
Just like you, 70% customers choose long-term cooperation with BBN steel not only for our good product and service quality, good reputation in the international market, but also for our experienced one-stop raw material supply and further steel processing!
