Carbon steel coil flat ASTM A572 grade 50 plate

ASTM A572 grade 50 carbon steel coil is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel with a yield strength of ≥345MPa (50ksi), a tensile strength of 450-600MPa, and an elongation of ≥18%. It is produced by hot rolling process and has a thickness range of 1.5-25.4mm. Its chemical composition contains C≤0.23%, Mn≤1.35%, and the addition of niobium-vanadium microalloying elements (Nb 0.005-0.05%, V 0.01-0.15%) significantly improves the grain refinement effect and welding performance (CEIIW≤0.45%).

A572 grade 50 coil combines cold formability and high strength characteristics, and is suitable for load-bearing parts that require bending processing such as automobile beams, container bottom plates, and engineering mechanical arms. Compared with ordinary Q235 carbon steel, its strength is increased by more than 50%, and the low-temperature toughness (-20℃ impact energy ≥27J) is improved by controlling P≤0.04% and S≤0.05%.

ASTM A572 grade 50 coil can be continuously hot-dip galvanized or sprayed, and its weather resistance is better than A36 steel. It is widely used in North American steel structure building enclosure systems and export equipment manufacturing. Its mechanical properties are equivalent to national standard Q355B and European standard S355JR, but its cost is 30% lower than A588 weathering steel.
