2205 and ASTM 321 stainless steel

2205 is a duplex stainless steel, ASTM 321 stainless steel is austenitic stainless steel. Here is 2205 and ASTM 321 stainless steel introduction.

2205 - 2205 duplex stainless steel alloy is 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel, nitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel. It has high strength, good toughness and good global and local resistance to stress corrosion, while the yield strength of 2205 was twice that of austenitic stainless steel.

2205 duplex stainless steel is a ferritic - austenitic stainless steel. It combines the ferrite and austenite beneficial properties, with good resistance to chloride stress corrosion and good resistance to sulfide stress corrosion. Also have high mechanical strength. Main components: 22Cr-5.3Ni-3.2Mo-0.16N; national standards: NAS 329J3L, UNS S32205/S31803, DIN / EN 1.4462, ASTM A240, ASME SA-240; mechanical properties: Tensile strength: σ b ≥ 640Mpa; extends rate: δ ≥ 25%; typical operating conditions: 20% sulfuric acid, 60 ℃ below the corrosion rate of <0.1mm; supporting wire: ER2209.

ASTM 321 stainless steel is the Ni-Cr-Ti type austenitic stainless steel, its performance and ASTM 304 is very similar to its high aspect ratio ASTM 316L is much better. ASTM 321 stainless steel in different concentrations and temperatures of organic and inorganic acids, especially in oxidizing medium has good abrasion performance, for the manufacture of containers and acid resistant lining wear equipment, pipelines.
