According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2020, China exported 6.476 million tons of steel products, an increase of 2.7 million tons from February, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 71.5%, and a year-on-year increase of 2.4%, a 21-month high. On the other hand, China's steel imports also increased in March. Data show that in March, China imported 1.137 million tons of steel, an increase of 15.3% month-on-month and an increase of 26.5% year-on-year.
From the first quarter of 2020, China's steel imports and exports have increased and decreased year-on-year. Data show that from January to March, China exported 14.286 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 16%; from January to March, China imported 3.178 million tons of steel, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year.
