What are the properties of SA516Gr60 steel?

SA516Gr60 steel is a carbon steel plate for medium and low temperature pressure vessels. The steel plate meets the technical requirements of the NACE-MR0175 oil field equipment for the resistance to sulfide stress cracking metal materials, and has passed the HIC+SSC test. SA516Gr60 fully meets the needs of oil gas with high content of sulfur and hydrogen, reduces the corrosion of sulfur and hydrogen, reduces the maintenance of equipment, and increases the service life of equipment.
 
Properties of SA516Gr60 steel plate
SA516Gr60 steel plate has the following characteristics: good impact resistance, small temperature deformation, good welding performance, good fatigue resistance, good anti-layered cracking performance, micro-alloying, high purity, low carbon equivalent, strong resistance to sulfur and hydrogen, The product has good dimensional tolerance and surface quality, and is currently available for steel plates with a thickness of less than 200mm.
 
Heat treatment 
(1) SA515Gr60, SA515Gr70, SA516Gr60, SA516Gr70, SA516Gr60N, SA516Gr70N thickness ≤1.5in, (40mm) steel plates are usually supplied in rolled state. Steel plates can also be ordered according to normalizing or stress relief, or normalizing plus stress relief.
(2) Steel plate with thickness >1.5in. (40mm) should be normalized.
(3) Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, a steel plate with a thickness of ≤ 1.5 in, (40 mm) shall be normalized when notched toughness is required.
(4) If approved by the purchaser, it is allowed to use a cooling rate greater than that in air to improve toughness, but as long as the steel plate is subsequently tempered in the range of 1100-1300 degrees F (595-705°C).
 
Sample status: Normalized samples should be subjected to simulated post-weld heat treatment. The simulated post-weld heat treatment system is: tensile test: 625±5℃×18h; cold bending and impact test: 625±5℃×6h.
