ASTM A387 Gr11 CL2 is an American standard chromium molybdenum alloy pressure vessel steel plate that complies with ASTM A387/A387M standards. Its typical composition is Cr 1.00% -1.50% and Mo 0.45% -0.65%. It achieves a yield strength of ≥ 310MPa and a tensile strength of 515-690MPa through normalizing and tempering heat treatment. A387 Gr11 CL2 material is designed for high-temperature hydrogen environments ranging from 350-480 ℃ and is suitable for key petrochemical equipment such as hydrogenation reactors and ammonia synthesis equipment.
A387 Gr11 CL2 level requires stricter low-temperature impact toughness (-20 ℃ impact energy ≥ 60J), and its smelting needs to be controlled by electric furnace+vacuum degassing process [H] ≤ 1.5ppm. The corresponding domestic grade is 14Cr1MoR, with a common thickness of 8-150mm, which requires ultrasonic testing and post weld heat treatment according to ASME specifications.
