ASTM A387 Gr5 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plate that complies with ASTM A387/A387M standards and is designed for high-temperature pressure vessels. It has a chromium content of 4.00%-6.00% and a molybdenum content of 0.45%-0.65%, and has excellent oxidation resistance and hydrogen corrosion resistance.
ASTM A387 Gr 5 alloy steel plate is delivered in normalized + tempered state, suitable for medium and high temperature environments of 350-600℃, with a tensile strength of 515-690MPa and a yield strength of ≥310MPa. The corresponding national standard grade is 1Cr5Mo/12Cr5Mo, and is commonly used in equipment such as petrochemical hydrogenation reactors.
The main characteristics include good weldability and creep resistance, and A387 Gr 5 steel plates are particularly suitable for hydrogen working conditions. Low-temperature toughness is ensured by strictly controlling the phosphorus and sulfur content (both ≤0.03%).
