ASME SA387 and ASTM A387 are two versions of the same standard. The former is included in the ASME boiler pressure vessel specification, and the latter is the original ASTM standard. Gr11/12/22 represent different chromium and molybdenum content levels, of which Gr11 contains Cr1.0%-1.5%, Mo0.45%-0.65%, and Gr22 contains Cr2.0%-2.5%, Mo0.9%-1.1%.
ASME SA387 and ASTM A387 steel plates are suitable for high temperature environments of 350-600℃. Gr11/12 is mostly used in petrochemical hydrogenation equipment, while Gr22 is more suitable for supercritical power plant boilers. The delivery status includes normalizing (CL1) and normalizing + tempering (CL2), with a tensile strength of 515-690MPa.
The corresponding domestic grades are 14Cr1MoR (Gr11), 15CrMoR (Gr12) and 12Cr2Mo1R (Gr22). Its hydrogen corrosion resistance and creep resistance are significantly better than those of carbon steel, and welding requires special welding materials and preheating process.
