Iranian Steel Export Grows by 102%

Iran's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Minerals announced that the output of crude steel and steel products increased by 13% and 7% respectively in the current year (Iranian calendar 2018, which began on March 21, 2018), and steel exports increased by 102%, according to an article entitled "Export of steel products increased by 102%" published by Iranian newspaper Harmony on March 10. According to the statistics of the National Iron and Steel Association of Iran, the crude steel production of the Iranian Iron and Steel Company in the first 10 months of 2018 was 20.679 million tons, compared with 18.3 million tons in the same period in 2017. According to the statistics of the Iron and Steel Association, the output of various steel products in the first 10 months of 2018 was 17.572 million tons, an increase of 7%.

According to the report, in the first 10 months of 2018 (Iranian calendar), 39.72 million tons of alloy steel and 2.397 million tons of various steel products were exported, an increase of 102% compared with the same period in 2017.
