What is the difference between acid resistant steel and stainless steel

Stainless steel is the general name of stainless acid resistant steel. Stainless steel is a kind of steel which is resistant to air, steam, water and other weak corrosion substances or has rust resistance, while acid resistant steel is a kind of steel which is resistant to chemical corrosion substances such as acid, alkali, salt and so on.

Difference between acid resistant steel and stainless steel:
The difference in chemical composition between acid resistant steel and stainless steel makes the corrosion resistance of the two steels different. Acid resistant steels are generally stainless, while ordinary stainless steels are generally not resistant to chemical erosion. "Stainless steel" not only refers to acid resistant steel, but also refers to more than 100 kinds of industrial stainless steel. Each stainless steel developed has excellent characteristics in its special application range. The key to success is to find out the purpose first, and then determine the correct steel grade. There are only 6 kinds of steel related to the application scope of building structure. These contain 17-22% chromium, and the better steel also contains nickel. The addition of molybdenum can further improve the air corrosion irritation, especially the corrosion resistance of fluoride containing air.

The main stainless steel grades are: 201 301 304 304L 309S 310S 316 316L 316Ti 317L 321 347 410 420 430 904L S32205 S31803, etc.
