The characteristics and use difference between 15CrMo and 42CrMo steel material

The 15CrMo steel material is generally used after normalizing and high temperature tempering to make boiler superheater, medium and high pressure steam pipe and header with steam temperature up to 510℃, main steam pipe with steam temperature up to 510℃. The 15CrMo steel material can be used to manufacture various important parts that work at room temperature after quenching and tempering.

42CrMo steel material has high fatigue strength and resistance to multiple impacts after quenching and tempering, good low-temperature impact toughness, and no obvious temper brittleness. 42CrMo steel material is generally used after quenching and tempering to produce higher hardness and larger cross-sectional dimensions, important parts such as shafts, gears, connecting rods, transmission gears, supercharger gears, engine cylinders, springs, spring clips, etc.
