Grade 2 titanium plate (UNS R50250) conforms to ASTM B265, with a minimum titanium purity of 99.2% and controlled impurities (Fe≤0.30%, O≤0.25%). Its α-phase microstructure ensures superior corrosion resistance, outperforming 316 stainless steel in chloride environments.
2. Mechanical & Corrosion Performance
In annealed condition, it exhibits tensile strength of 275-345 MPa and elongation ≥20%. The passive TiO₂ layer resists seawater, acids, and oxidizing media, with corrosion rates <0.001 mm/year in marine applications.
3. Applications & Processing
ASTM B265 grade 2 titanium plate is widely used in heat exchangers, chemical reactors, and medical implants. Compatible with welding (GTAW), cold forming (50% reduction), and anodizing for surface enhancement. Cost-effective alternative to nickel alloys in corrosive environments.
