Difference between 15CrMo and 12Cr1MoV steel plate

12Cr1MoV steel plate belongs to alloy steel plate. The carbon content of 12Cr1MoV steel plate is 0.12%. In addition, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium trace elements are specially added into the steel to adjust the properties of the steel plate.

15CrMo steel plate is alloy structural steel, belonging to pearlite structure heat-resistant steel. 15CrMo steel plate has high endurance strength below 500-550℃, good machinability and cold strain plasticity, and acceptable weldability (preheating to 300℃ before welding and post welding heat treatment). 15CrMo steel plate is generally used in normalizing and high temperature tempering.

12Cr1MoV steel is mainly used after normalizing and high temperature tempering to manufacture superheated steel pipe, conduit, serpentine tube and other corresponding forgings with working temperature not exceeding 570-585℃ in high pressure equipment.

After normalizing and tempering, 15CrMo steel can be used to manufacture boiler superheater, medium and high pressure steam pipes and headers with steam temperature up to 510℃, and main steam pipes with steam temperature up to 510℃. After quenching and tempering, they can be used to manufacture various important parts working at normal temperature.
