ASTM A387 alloy steel plate is a chromium molybdenum alloy steel specially designed for high-temperature and high-pressure equipment, especially suitable for key equipment such as oil storage tanks, boilers, and pressure vessels. A387 grade 11/22 and other grades significantly improve the material's resistance to high temperature oxidation and hydrogen corrosion by adding chromium molybdenum elements (Cr 1-3%, Mo 0.5-1%).
A387 steel plate needs to undergo normalizing and tempering heat treatment to ensure that it maintains a yield strength of ≥ 240MPa at 540 ℃. Oil tank applications must comply with ASME VIII standards, while boiler plates must meet the ultrasonic testing requirements in SA387M specifications.
