I. Melting and Pretreatment
6061 aluminum ingots are produced using a semi-continuous casting method, with a strictly controlled magnesium-silicon ratio (Mg 0.8-1.2%, Si 0.4-0.8%). The ingots are heated to 500°C before hot extrusion. The molds are preheated to 450°C to reduce internal stress.
II. Key Machining Parameters for 6061 Aluminum Sheet
For milling, coated carbide tools are recommended, with a linear speed of 200-300 m/min. For drilling, cobalt-containing drill bits are used, with a speed of 2000 r/min and a feed rate of 0.05 mm/rev to prevent tool sticking. When machining thin-walled parts, allow a 0.5 mm margin to prevent deformation.
III. Surface Treatment and Aging of 6061 Aluminum Sheet
The anodized film has a thickness of 10-25 μm and an electrolyte temperature of 20°C. T6 heat treatment (solution treatment at 530°C + aging at 175°C) can increase the tensile strength to 310 MPa. After welding, local aging is required to restore strength.
