SA543 Type B CL2 steel plate for pressure vessels

SA543 Type B CL2 steel plate is a quenched and tempered Ni-Cr-Mo alloy steel plate for pressure vessels, mainly used to manufacture the largest reactor - ethylene oxide reactor in chemical production. The strength of the steel plate is high, and the welded joints without heat treatment during the manufacturing of equipment will have large residual stress, which is easy to cause stress corrosion cracking. SA543 series steel plates are divided into two types: B and C. Each type has three categories: SA543 Type B CL1, SA543 Type B CL2, SA543 Type B CL3.

1. Tensile test requirements: The steel represented by the tensile specimen should meet the requirements in the mechanical properties table.
2. For steel plates with a nominal thickness not greater than 3/4in. (20mm), a rectangular specimen with a width of 1 1/2in. (40mm) can be used for tensile test, and the elongation can be within 2in measured on the gauge length of (50mm), which includes the fracture and shows the maximum elongation.
